Any full- time undergraduate student is eligible to tryout and participate in team events.
Graduate and part-time students may participate in the team as long as they pay the student fee each semester. This is because full-time undergraduates already have this fee built into their tuition. The fee must be paid to the cashier’s office and proof of payment should be brought to the SGA office before participation may be allowed.
Participants are eligible for a PE Credit.
Those who leave the team prior to the end of the season in the Spring will only be eligible to re-tryout if the Coach is notified and team addressed by the student-athlete within 1 week of decision to leave the team.
As of Fall 2013 there are only 16 positions on the team. 12 members will attend the America East Tournament and 6 members for the NCAA Tournament in March.
In order to be considered, interested students must attend both days of tryouts in their entirety at the beginning of the season.
Those in attendance must wear a plain t-shirt, appropriate sneakers, and no jewelry whatsoever. This includes any seen/unseen body jewelry. Body jewelry may be taped only with that of a medical quality.
Cuts may be made because of the nature of the sport and available resources. This decision will be made on the last day of tryouts within 1 hour after their end and a list of the new team may be found on the team's website.
Previous placement on the team does not guarantee placement on the team for the following year. Every member must go through the same selection process in the fall. In addition to ability, each person's cooperation, effort, attitude and ability to interact effectively with others will be considered.
Tryouts are "closed". This means that if you are a student, you either have to be trying out for the team or have been invited to attend by the coach or an officer. Those who violate this will be asked to leave.
